Koons Hall at UConn

Benjamin Franklin Koons Hall at UConn was an interior renovation complete with general demolition of architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems.


Once demolition was complete, interior spaces were refinished and constructed. This included new partitions, doors, hardware, casework, finishes, and abatement of asbestos-containing materials.


Laboratory reconfigurations included new biosafety cabinets, removal of existing steam heat system and split-system air conditioning. The new HVAC system included a heat exchanger, 4-pipe distribution system, and fan-coil. Electrical system modifications included new switchgear and panels. Work was also done do restore the site, while protecting the existing trees.
