Northfield Volunteer Fire Department

Northfield, CT

This project consisted of building a new, 20,000 SF Fire House Facility which includes a 5-bay apparatus building connected to a two-story administration building.

At the time of construction, the Northfield Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. protected an area of 12 square miles, primarily residential, with approximately 1800 people. They operated at the MRT-D and EMT-B level, and had a staff of 37 men and women. The services provided from this fire station included Firefighting, Hazardous Material Response, ALS Emergency Medical Service, Vehicle Rescue, and Search & Rescue. LBG took the lead on design / building the apparatus building, which was value-engineered to bring costs down to the owner.
