"This is a high-end theater we are extraordinarily proud of," says Mike Anderson, Director of Operations. An innovative project, LaRosa Building Group was awarded First Place in the Excellence in Construction Award, Institutional category by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Connecticut for the construction of the Cooperative Educational Services (CES) Regional Center for the Arts.
Built on farmland at the base of a hill, CES Regional Center for the Arts was a new 49,000 square-foot dedicated building.
Located at 23 Oakview Dr, Trumbull, CT, the construction team faced the challenges of building on a rocky, hilly foundation, installing the decorative wood ceilings, and creating the dramatically curved front façade, constructed with aluminum storefront and sectional glass.
Designed for students studying the performing arts - including dance, music, voice, acting, theater, musical theater, and production - this Regional Center for the Arts is a part-time public inter-district magnet high school for a maximum of 250 students in coastal Fairfield County, Connecticut.
The school’s unique amenities include a black box theater, auditorium, catwalk system, phone/PA closet, alternative electrical service (site generator), and high-end audio and video equipment.
When the project was completed, Coastal Fairfield County had an award-winning state-of-the art performing arts school
