Special care and expertise must be applied to the rehabilitation of historic structures when encountering antiquated and potentially hazardous building materials and bringing the structure up to current building standards without compromising its integrity. LaRosa has successfully completed projects where either the building was listed on State and/or National Historic Registers, or the project was within a historic district.

Readiness Center at Camp Niantic
East Lyme, CT
This project was a new 50,000 SF readiness training and administration facility at Camp Niantic. The new center was built to provide the 192nd Military Police Battalion and the 85th Troop Command with modern office space for administrative functions and training duties.
The building is a new, steel-framed structure with a standing-seam metal roof and concrete foundation. The interior finishes for this project include a mixture of traditional drywall, floor coverings, and ceiling systems, as well as exposed concrete and steel.
This project is a SPiRiT GOLD level sustainable/green project (the Department of Defense’s equivalent to the civilian LEED® program at the time).
